This is a personal website which I use for odds and ends. Hosting fossil repositories, blogs, various utility servers, and so on.
I got my name, Monax, which is an Algonquin word, from the woodchuck. I don’t have anything particularly profound to say about this connection other than that I have an affinity for the word itself and I’ve used it as a handle for so long.
Personally, I am currently a professional software developer which I have too many ill-founded opinions on to truly enjoy doing. But beyond that I am a Haskell enthusiast and novice math enjoyer. Having no formal education in math beyond differential equations and their applications in chemical engineering, there is a lot of logic, symbology, and philosophy which I’ve come to enjoy in my meager pursuit of the subject.
Additionally, I am an Orthodox Christian, and trying to take that role as seriously as I can. I believe I converted from my Presbyterian upbringing around 2019 though I honestly don’t remember the exact date. This is a facet of my identity which is very important to me and is something I want to actualize more every day.
I’m bringing up those two subjects in particular because any personal blog posts which I release are very likely to be related to either functional programming or Orthodox Christianity. So I am giving fair warning to any imperatively-minded heathen out there.
That all being said, some additional links to places and sites I am affiliated with can be found here:
If you want to reach out to me for some reason then you can use this email though I very seldom read it.
If by chance you are someone that I don’t personally know and you have found yourself here then you’re very welcome to peruse the site’s contents. If you are so inclined towards contributing to any of my programming projects or would like some other access then reach out to me and I’ll see what I can do.
Otherwise, thank you for your time.
